CHIA-DER WU, MD, PH. D
Dr. Chia-Der Wu is the founder of Wu Eye Care, and has been a driving force behind the success of this practice since 1986. He has extensive training in eye care, being licensed to practice in Taiwan, Germany, and the US, and Wu Eye Care was built with his tremendous endurance, enthusiasm, and love for his patients. His philosophy of caring for everyone, whether young or old, rich or poor, has spread his reputation as a compassionate physician beyond the local population here in Flushing – many patients come from out-of-state because they trust Dr. Wu and his empathic manner helps them feel at ease.
Dr. Wu received his medical degree at Taipei Medical University, then was awarded his Ph.D at the University of Bonn. He then went on to train in ophthalmology at the University of Munich, where he received his accreditation as a practicing ophthalmologist. Not content to stop there, he came to New York and again trained for ophthalmology at St. Claire’s Hospital and Health Center. Having decided at the time to settle in New York, he then opened a practice and began what would become Wu Eye Care in Flushing.
